So, as you can tell by the last update from over a year ago, the site has been fairly inactive. There have been a few secret releases (silent but deadly style) but pretty much everything is gone or out of print or scattered in weird boxes unassembled from a couple of life moves.

There are still a few copies of the M Ax Noi Mach / Diagram A 7″ that we co-released with Greenwood Electronics and Silvox Recordings. Outside of that there are only the beginnings of a few releases I’m currently working on finishing (after a zillion years.)

That being said, there are a more than a few things on the horizon and more to come that I’m really excited about. I hope to get releases up on the site, so people can mailorder them even though I really really really hate mailorder and possibly start putting up some artwork for sale.

Hope you’re enjoying your summer!

03/01/2009

Tour is now over and I’m back in Western Mass, despite the 2 feet of snow that fell last night and this totally incapacitating illness that has taken over my body, it feels good to be home. A lot of stuff went out of print (check the releases). There are a couple new tapes to put up and a tide of new jams just screaming to get out. My lack of job is making it a lot harder to get them all out and for that I’m bummed, but they’ll make it one way or the other.

Out NOW:

Anthro Rex & Id M Theftable. A collab recording between these two northeast wooly mammoths of mind mush, a thirty minute trip down a drooling, foot stomping, wall slapping path of total weirdness. Lots of awesome mouth gymnastics, environmental instruments and twists and turns in the recording that make it hard to believe it’s a live set. Really excited by this recording; captures the spirit and daring of these two guys really well. I wish i was smart enough to package it with actual beard hair. Comes in a one color silk-screen sleeve drawn by Dan Cashman and George W. Myers.

Slaughtered Sandworm & Weirding Module. Another duo / collab tape but this one definitely landing on the other side of the moon, maybe even…the dark side of it… A real patient, almost tense tape, like a couple of snakes fighting and shedding skin at the same time. great vocal work and prepared guitar by Fernando (S.S) to match the intermittent modular synth blobs that Weirding Module unleashes. Could have been the alternate soundtrack to Dune if it didn’t feature any people. Great jams! Full color artwork by George W. Myers.

George W. Myers : Mushmouth V. 1 - Winter Tour 2009. Made for the just finished tour, a cdr collecting new late night winter fuzz. slow heavy beats mangled and untangled in a mush of electronics. No vocals so i’m dropping the ‘mushmouth’ moniker, plus on tour i found out there’s a mushmouth in damn near every city, so… Really happy with these recordings, pretty clean takes done “live” but in a studio setting. 40 minutes or so. Cdr in full color / Black and White sleeve.

———————

I know it’s a total cliche to say they’re coming soon, but, i swear it, they are:

Pascal Nichols : Empty Bell Tower (c20 of mind-wind chimes ringing across the winds)

Alien Radio : S/T (c25 of modular synth from german label tape tektonik’s head squid)

I-Max : The Sonn Rises in the East (c30 beat tape from hobo sonn, totally amazing mpc head nodder)

Soaking Rasps : S/T (c30 from skoal kodiak singer/ ex-quad muth of amazing dubbed out grizz beats)

Steve Dags / Greg Thomas : split tape (c30 split, one side of lap steel drone another of awesome zither jams, co-released with french/uk label Rayon!)

——————–

Also worth mentioning that I’ve been back at the tape reviews / editorship over at cassettegods.blogspot.com along with a few other writers and there are a bunch of others about to hop on board that i’m really excited about, stay tuned!

Up next, full tour recap (with pictures!)

Oh yeah, lastly, there were a few orders that slipped and didn’t get sent out before i left, will have those out ASAP, sorry bout that!

Keep in touch.

-George

Outta print: The Ducktails 7″ and Bromp Treb 7″ have gone the way of the Bush Administration and are no longer with us. If you want to check the Bromp Treb record Apostasy Recordings still have some available (along with the LONG out of print Tarp 7″) and i think Bromp Treb / Yeay! are almost out of theirs. Along with those dudes, worth checking out the distros / stores that carry our releases, DNT, Tomentosa, deathbomb arc, mystery train records, golden age, along with a bunch of others. If yr a distro and interested in carrying stuff get in touch [ info @ breakingworldrecords . ]

Outta sight: Working on the finishing touches of the Anthro Rex / Id M Theftable collab and the Slaughtered Sandworm / Weirding Module collab tape. Can’t say enough good things about these tapes, the first being a total battle of epic mouth mangled mania and the latter being another trip into the Dune outtakes; ears 90% full of sand and spittle. These two should be done in the next couple days and available for order BEFORE tour, every thing else will probably be done for tour and not on the site till I get back end of Feb, which is the next point.

On Tour: I’ll be headed on a couple week tour from western mass down to INC and back. The tour will be me solo (as George W. Myers), Pak and Noise Nomads. There’s a chance we’ll play as our trio in there somewhere, Duper, but everything that is planned now is as three solo acts. All shows are pretty much confirmed, more details forthcoming. Schedule is as follows:

Feb 5th: Pittsburgh (house show)

Feb 6th: Columbus, OH (Skylab w/ Ryan Jewell)

Feb 7th: Cleveland, OH

Feb 8th: Lexington, KY

Feb 9th: Murfreesboro, TN @ Megachurch

Feb 10th: Birmingham, AL

Feb 11th: Gainesville, FL (pre-INC fest)

Feb 12th: Miami INC (not-playing)

Feb 13th: Miami INC (all three acts playing)

Feb 14th: Miami INC (not playing)

Feb 15th: Tampa, FL (post-INC show)

Feb 16th: South Carolina

Feb 17th: North Carolina

Feb 18th: Philly

Feb 19th: New York City @ Silent Barn w/ Time Life, Watersports and Ducktails DJ set

A nice review of the Bromp Treb7″ & Ducktails 7″ at: http://auxiliaryout.blogspot.com/ The french (soon to be international?) Visitation Rites Blog did a nice long write up of Ducktails and the 7″ along with a Greyskull live review (cdr in distro) from our show in Paris . The “7 Inches” blog reviews the ducktails and Foxy Digitalis reviews Floris Vanhoof tape and the Blue Shift : Ghost Singers 3 tape
Faux Pas Recording reviews Floris tape too. American Rager, a favorite blog of mine reviews the Snack Attack : Slowed Heat v.1 tape. That’s a blog worth checking, updated weekly, totally rules.

If yr a blog dude, a tape reviewer or someone with a radio show get in touch, info [ @ ] breakingworldrecords . com. Which reminds me: Ducktails on WFMU, bromp treb does a not-updated-enough podcast that rules called Irregular Froth. Don’t even wanted to get started on listing 101 awesome podcasts. maybe as a year-end thing next post.

The Distro section is up and running, had a few people buy things with no problems which is encouraging, if you run into any fuzz/static let me know for sure.

Keep safe and stay in touch.

So this new “format” may be a little confusing. to see new releases, check “the store” link on the left. you can add releases to the cart and then checkout with paypal when your done. the music player for now is just a player but you should be able to download everything eventually. Also, the new shopping cart system allows me to designate quantity, so if it’s up there, it’s in stock. Same as before, all prices are post-paid (in us/canada) That brings me to my next point, a distro section!

I’ll be putting up some stuff i have multiple copies of soon, have to figure out how to distinguish between breaking world releases and the distro section, but expect that soon, pretty excited about that!

All orders from November and before should be mailed to you unless they got lost in the mail (i see you chicago post office!). Speaking of the post office. if you are ordering from outside of US/Canada, add $5 shipping to yr order, thanks.

Any questions always feel free to write. info [at] breakingworldrecords[dot] com .

thanks!

so, if you haven’t noticed (maybe it’s better if you don’t) there’s a new design, archived news/updates here and more frequent postings about label news and releases. sweet.

All orders up till thanksgiving week have been sent out, anything after that will go out next week, being under-employed has made it a lot easier to get orders out, instead of a couple weeks they’re usually shipping within a week. nice for everyone.

Bromp Treb 7″ is running a little low, only something like 25 left, can’t recommend it enough, buy two play em on different speeds, different sides, same as the Tarp 7″! The Ducktails 7″ is selling quick, a few more of those left since it wasn’t a split release, but i don’t see it being around much longer, highly recommended. Some nice reviews of the ducktails record at the visitations blog, and the 7inches blog. There’s a good little piece on the (now out of print) Rack Rash 3″ cdr at ear conditioned nightmare, and American Rager (a favorite blog of mine) did a nice review of the Slowed Heat volume 1 that’s worth checking out.

NEW JAMS:

————–

Duper’s s/t 3″ cdr. It’s actually been out for a while now but only in an initial run of 30 before we pressed up more and made it available to the general public. Duper is Pak, Jeff Hartford (noise nomads) and George W. Myers (Mushmouth). One track of mostly electronics, sprinkling of vocals, tapes and even drums top it off. They’ll be touring this winter, down to Miami (INC) and back up, get in touch if you’re interested in having them in yr town, specifically Charleston, Virginia, Florida!

The Attitude Problem LP is here! heavy wax attack, double drummers, newly added vocalist brings utter mayhem and riff raff to a totally intense lineup of pummeling drums and riffs. Comes in silkscreened sleeve with full color insert, 10 american dollars. sweet.

The Duo Dimension tape is also available for consumption. Dj Cashman and Snack Attack drop a steamy DJ mix of synth, new age, jazz/fusion, prog and a little more, 62 minute tape and features lots of jams to help you levitate yr way through the winter. Two covers available, dutch printed two color stencil or full color american collage, both are sweet.

A few other nuggets slipping their way out, all really exciting: Neon Tempal tape. NT is Pascal the drummer from english/french duo Part Wild Horses Mane on Both sides, really exciting and soothing musician (and person) comes full on with a whirlwind of twittering clicks and bells and breezes, an airy, beautiful affair for sure.

Lots more, but one thing at a time.

Enjoy the new internet style.

-george / breaking world records
